Our facilities are equipped to test lithium-ion cells and battery packs for all major safety and environmental conditions.
Our most common tests for UN 38.3 and other certificates include:
- Impact (crush, puncture, drop-mass, etc.)
- Altitude simulation & pressure
- Thermal abuse
- Vibration
- Shock
- External & internal short circuit
- Overcharge
- Forced discharge
- Cycle age (up to 80 V/module)
- Other
Note: Our facilities are not equipped to test at or near vacuum conditions (~100 µPa). If you are located in the US we can refer you to a relevant testing and compliance laboratory for vacuum testing which may be relevant for aerospace, Hyperloop, and other industries.
Safety testing typically does not incur additional fees, however, some fees may apply depending on the scope of testing. Some tests require the destruction of sample packs, while others (shock, drop-mass, etc.) are not constrained to sample pack destruction.
