I have a large number of M18 Milwaukee power tool batteries and I would like to have the cells to fix them. I realize there must be a REASONABLE cell to work with and an EXTREME cell I could do it with and welcome your suggestions on cells to rebuild these batteries with.

I have XC (3 amp) XC4, and XC5, some high capacity 9 and a few 12 amp unit as well. I do not need to rebuild the 9 and 12 units but would like to MAX out the 3, 4 and 5 packs for capacity.

Would it be correct to assume I do not need a 20A drain capable cell?

Thanks for any insight you can provide

Hey bud,
I too have run into the same situation. I have been successfully rebuilding mine with the LG HD2, but have recently switched to the Sanyo UR18650 NSX. They are a powerhouse but do cost more.

Keep in mind, you will want the maximum discharge rate to be equal to or barely lesser than what came in the packs, otherwise you (we) run the risk of heating the tool or battery up unnecessarily or perhaps causing it to fail regardless.
